What customers say?

“ Really quick service and friendly staff. The baked potato with filling did not disappoint (often these are served too small or overcooked in other tearooms) it was filling and the potato was fluffy but not dry. Cakes were fabulous and coffees and teas really flavoursome. Would definitely recommend and return. ”

“ What a beautifully situated and service place to eat. So dog friendly, including us buying out dog a "puppycino and biscuit", which she absolutely loved. My wife and I had the ploughman's lunch, with a latte and elderflower bubbly. All so very reasonably priced and the staff were absolutely lovely, accommodating and very welcoming. Honestly, if you are in the area and looking for somewhere to loose a day, have great food in a quintessential Devonian village, look not further! ”

“ Lovely quaint spot to get a little bite to eat - mainly afternoon tea, cakes, sandwiches or jacket potato. They do some vegan and gluten free options too. Seating is outside in a secluded little garden in the picturesque village of Cockington. The staff are highly attentive, kind and efficient. Dog friendly and child friendly. The toilets are also done nicely. Unfortunately plant milk is a 75p charge even for a cup of tea!!! So didn’t get a drink. I will definitely be back though! ”

“ If we are near to the area we always have a cream tea here. We visited from Dorset and it's well worth the drive. Beautiful food, lovely attentive staff, lots of parking. Heated patio for when its chilly. Service is fab and very quick considering they are so busy. 5 ”

“ Fantastic little place for tea, coffee, sandwiches, cakes, cream teas and high tea. Service was spot on, food was quick, great quality and delicious. A must stop if you’re visiting Cockington village. Dogs and children welcome, lots of shade and cool on a hot day, a hidden gem. ”

“ Don't know how anyone could give this place a lower rating. It's right in the middle of the village, gorgeous garden and comfortable seating. Menu is fantastic, well detailed and lots of choice. Amazing crab sandwiches with salad and crisps for £12.95 (crab is pricey wherever you go). Cream tea was delicious, you could have with or without tea, very fairly priced at £5 or £7.95 (i think?). Service was excellent and prompt. The whole restaurant is well looked after and bathrooms are fresh, new and clean. Don't miss this gem! There is Dolly, the sweetest deaf dog that just wants cuddles there too. ”

“ Delicious cream tea with their own jams which can bought too. The waiter was friendly and efficient. The quaintness of the historic little village was well represented with the China crockery served our generous sized scones! ”
